Faculty Development Program Report on How to publish a book on Management Studies by reputed publisher:
The objective of faculty development program (FDP) was to motivate faculties to publish a book. Topic of FDP was how to publish a book on Management Studies by reputed publisher. Dr. Purshottam Patil, Director, SVIMS Business School, taken initiative to arrange this FDP.
Faculty Development Program started with Sarasvati Vandana. Inaugural address was given by Director Dr. Purshottam Patil. Dr. Firdos Shroff, conducted this FDP on 30/11/2024 at the IT Lab. Dr. Vishwanth Malji. Associate Professor-HR, introduced Dr. Firdaus Shroff with brief profile. Faculties of Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Management Studies and Research, SVIMS Business School and NKES Degree college attended FDP.
Dr. Firdaus Shroff given key tips on how to write a book on management studies as follows: 1. Define your niche and audience- Identify specific topic within Management Studies, and determine who your readers are.
- Research and plan- Analyze existing books to find gaps in the literature, develop a unique angle or new perspective on management theories and practices and create a detailed outline to structure your content logically.
- Write a high quality manuscript- Ensure the content is well researched, analytical and practical, use real world case studies, examples, and data to support your arguments, maintain a clear, engaging, and professional writing style and cite sources properly if you are using academic references.
- Decide on publishing method- Submit a book proposal to academic publishers, prepare a book proposal including synopsis, target audience, market analysis and sample chapters and work with an editor to refine your manuscript, invest in professional editing, cover design, and formatting, optimize your book for SEO and amazon categories and some publishers offer assisted publishing where you pay for services while retaining rights.
- Get peer reviews and testimonials- Ask professors, business leaders, or management experts to review your book and get endorsements from influential figures to add credibility.
- Distribution and sales strategy- Make it available in digital, paperback, and hardcover formats.
